Price reduction! Yay!

*crawls out of the woodwork*

Long time no see! I know I haven't been around here much over the last year, and really there is a good reason for that. Truth is, my computer died and I have only now managed to scrape together enough money to fix it. That is due in no small part to all the wonderful people on Ravelry and Etsy who have bought copies of my patterns.

SO, in celebration of my newly fixed computer, and the fact that the anniversary of my first opening up my Etsy store (the first site I joined) was on Valentine's Day, I decided to lower the prices on all my patterns (wow, that makes it sound like there's a lot of them and not just the 3 I have posted on Rav).

My Asian Dragon is now going for $5US, my Kitsune is $2, and my Betta is $1.

Zombie snowmen? X_x;

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
...lots of rain lately. >_>;;

This first guy had been supposed to be a zombunny (zombie bunny), but his proportions weren't coming out right and it was late, so I gave his a pair of spindly arms, the prerequisite red X zombie eyes, and now he's a zombie snowman. He's got some lovely patches of pale green and black mold, and is a sickly off-white.

In other news, I made another Chocobo purse. It worked much better this time, and now I have its pattern written down. I'm still a bit shaky on the whole 'changing colors' part, and the 'binding off in something other than a straight line' part, but I think it turned out rather well.

It was raining, and I like Chocobos, so I made a Chocobo coin purse. Need I say more? ~-^

New Pattern! Fox/Kitsune! ^-^

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I’ve always loved the stories about kitsune. Then again, that might be my own warped and mischievous sense of humor showing through. Hmmm. Maybe I’m part fox… ~-^

I made this little guy with three tails and he’s about 7” tall when he’s sitting down, perfect for cuddling in one hand! ^-^

Kitsune is the Japanese word for fox. In mythology they often show their mischievous side, though they’re just as often shown to be faithful guardians and friends. A kitsune may have up to nine tails, and the more tails it has, the older, wiser, and more powerful it is.

I'll post pics a little later. EDIT: Pics now up! \^-^/

Check it out on Etsy or Ravelry, where the pattern is already up and ready to go:

Me on Etsy, or on Ravelry.

If you don't have a preference and you want to buy a copy of the pattern, I'd love it if you'd go the Ravelry route (less fees over there).

I've just taught myself how to knit.

Mwahahahahahahaha! \^_^/

Never one to do things the easy way, I learned how to knit with double-pointed needles because I just want to make amigurumi and they're done in the round, so I figured why learn how to go flat first if I'll hardly ever do that? So I'm off to a round start. (For anyone out there who's wincing at that, that's also how I tackled crochet. ~_^)

I made an brown-orange ball. Then I crocheted him a little two-tone green hat, gave him some eyes and a mouth, and voila! It's a persimmon! I'm calling him Pete. I'll post a picture when I can find the camera.

He turned out pretty darn good, I think! At least his stitches are all the same size. I miss crochet's invisible decreases and double ring, though... :(

Let crochet carrots everywhere beware!

Today (and yesterday), I have been busy making guinea pigs. It started out as one, but you know how it goes; first you have one, then you have seven. Ah, well. They were inspired by the guinea pigs I used to have (at least the white one and the dark ones were). They're the same size as a real newborn guinea pig (and seeing that is an awesome thing in itself!).

I'm thinking about making more, selling them (already made), and giving part of the money to the local SPCA. It's run entirely on donations, and taken care of (volunteered) by a very nice retired lady whose only recompense is the satisfaction of taking care of the animals.

Anyways, here they are!

EDIT FEB 24: Okay, so there was this crochet thread. And this hook. I couldn't help it. =_=;;

Thus, 'Goliath' was born. Er... hooked?

He's a grand total of 1 1/4" (3cm) long, and just too cute for words. ^_^

That's a doozy! Er... dooz*er*.

It was windy and snowstormy today. A day when you just want to stay inside, curl up next to the wood stove and vegetate until the weather smartens up. A great day for crochet! ~_^

So I sat down with a bit of yarn and a hook and... well... crocheted. I decided I felt like doozers today, so that's what I did. I seem to be getting better at making up patterns as I go along. Good thing I also write everything down; if it works, I can do it again and if it doesn't... well, that's what they invented scribbling for. ~_^

I think I'm going to give this guy to Mom; she's always liked doozers. EDIT: I gave it to her just a few minutes ago - she loved it! Yay! ^_^

Heeeeeere, fishy, fishy, fishy!

Fresh off the hook, Bettas!

These guys have all the eyecatching allure of a real Betta (fighting fish), but no cleaning smelly tanks! These guys are quite calm and will only fight if you want them to. They might nibble the occasional jellybean, but only when no one will notice them.

Dragon pattern now available...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Well, the pattern for my Asian Dragon from this post is typed and edited, prettied up with pictures, and is now sitting in my brand-new Etsy shop.

So now I have two dragons; the original and the new one I made while testing the pattern. They've been getting along so far without fighting, which is more than I can say about my cats. >_<

Ami dragons

This is my first time posting on Etsy; please let me know if I did some sort of monumental flub-up?

I started this just trying to figure out how to do bends in amigurumi. About 20 hours later, I'm putting the finishing touches on an Asian dragon and trying to keep my eyes from crossing.

Head -> desk

I took a couple of pictures (please forgive the crappy camera).
